This 911 holds a special place in our hearts here at Road Scholars and goes all the way back to when the company first opened its doors. It’s a car that we have grown to love- we’ve been fortunate to know each and every one of its owners, and are delighted to offer it to another great home.

Chassis 303997 is perhaps one of the best surviving short-wheelbase 911s in existence. “Patina” has become a term that is often thrown around, describing everything from cracked and scratched paintwork to rust- this 911, with its original Aga blue paintwork and Red interior, has aged wonderfully over the 54 years since it was new. Its originality is what truly makes this car special, as its a glimpse into everything that Porsche intended the 911 to be. Lively, light, nimble, and completely engaging for the driver.

Chassis 303997 was thoroughly driven and enjoyed by its first owner until 1985 until he gifted the 911 to his daughter, as documented by a hand written letter. She stored her father’s 911 for another 20 years before it made its way into our hands. The thin paint was carefully and lovingly rubbed by hand to a deep luster, and the remarkably well-preserved interior treated to a deep clean. Only the maintenance work necessary to ensure the 911 was roadworthy was performed, otherwise the 911 remains entirely original.

This car exudes personality, and the few blemishes that are present only add to telling its story. The odometer now shows just over 87,000 miles, just a few hundred miles more than when it was parked in the 1980s. It includes the original manuals, jack, tool kit, and extensive service documentation from its original owner.
