Porsche began offering the M491 option (also called the wide body or Turbo Look) on the 3.2 Carrera in 1984 and It remained an option from 84 to 89. The 87-89 models also have the desirable G50 transmission. The M491 option is much more than stretched fenders. You get all of the benefits of the Turbo matched with the highly reliable, less complex and easier to maintain 3.2 engine. The M491 option included:
